Join Mayor Annise D. Parker and Parade Grand Marshal, Houston Rocket, Dwight Howard, as we kick off the holiday season Thursday, November 26th with the 66th Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year we celebrate Houston on Parade with a stellar salute to the city's finest attributes. After all, Houston is artistic, global, sporty and most of all, family.
The Thanksgiving Day Parade is a 66 year-old holiday tradition showcasing the Houston community and entertaining more than 200,000 parade-goers lining the streets on Thanksgiving morning. Join us as we embrace the holiday spirit with sensational floats, high-flying balloons, marching bands, artistic entries and live entertainment!
The 66th Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade is free to the public and begins at 9 a.m. The route will begin on Smith at Lamar, proceed north to Walker, east to Milam, south to Pease, west to Louisiana, north to Clay, west to Smith, and north to end at Smith and Dallas. Curbside space along the route for lawn chairs and blankets will be plentiful. Arrive early to partake of the food truck offerings stationed throughout the route. Mayor's Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting Presented by Reliant
Friday, December 4, 2015 - 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Hermann Square - City Hall
Ring in the season with the 96th Annual Mayor's Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting Presented by Reliant, an NRG company on Friday, December 4, 2015 in the heart of downtown Houston. This spectacular event is a holiday tradition of music, fireworks and family fun! A towering holiday tree, glowing with energy-efficient LED lights, shimmering ornaments and a stunning star topper will light up the streets of downtown Houston this holiday season. The event takes place in Hermann Square at City Hall from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is FREE and open to the public.
Featured entertainment includes 7-time Grammy award winner, Al Jarreau, "The Voice" season 2 alumnus and Baytown native, RaeLynn, Divisi Strings, the nationally acclaimed Venezuelan Dancers - Casino Stars and the T.H. Rogers Signing Choir. Santa will make a stop as he surveys his Houston route and will be available for free photographs with kids in his North Pole themed booth.
The public is invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the Salvation Army booth at the Mayor's Holiday Celebration to help make the holidays brighter for a child this season. Everyone who brings a toy will receive a light-up Santa hat from Reliant. The annual toy drive benefits the Salvation Army Greater Houston Area Command.
