Houston Salutes Veterans Day Celebration & 9/11 Heroes Run

8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

In honor of Houston's veterans, first responders, and volunteers who have led Houston's recovery efforts from Hurricane Harvey, Mayor Sylvester Turner will host the annual "Houston Salutes American Heroes" Veterans Day Celebration and the Travis Manion Foundation 9/11 Heroes Run on Saturday, November 11, 2017.

The celebration will begin at 8 a.m. with the nationally recognized Travis Manion Foundation 9/11 Heroes Run, originally scheduled for September 9, 2017.

The salute continues with the AARP Veterans Job & Resource Fair starting at 8 a.m.- 12 p.m. in Hermann Square at City Hall. Symbols of Freedom, presented by Wells Fargo, will feature military exhibits at City Hall.

The traditional Veterans Day Ceremony presented by H-E-B will begin at 10:00 a.m. on the steps of City Hall with a 21-Gun Salute. The ceremony will end at 1 a.m. with a moment of silence in memory of the signing of the WWI Armistice. Don Nelson, retired military and formerly with ABC13, will emcee the ceremony.

All proceeds from registration (excluding costs) will be donated to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
