October 13, 2011 Celebrate National Disability Awareness Month at a Wheelchair Soccer Kick Off: Location: Come cheer as Mayor Annise Parker, the Department of Neighborhoods, City of Houston elected officials and department directors play a wheelchair soccer match against the Houston Commission on Disabilities! A Houston Dynamo player is a special guest referee and will be joined by team mascot "Diesel!" An optional $5.00 donation is suggested to support adaptive recreation equipment for the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center. Information will also be available about the Department of Neighborhoods and other events residents can participate in as part of National Disability Awareness Month in Houston!
