District C
Blossom & Westcott
- Neighborhood and pedestrian safety is a top priority for Council Member Kamin, and the District C Office continues to work to fund as many sidewalks, safe crossings and reconstruction of dangerous intersections as possible with limited district funds.
- On December 8, Council Member Kamin hosted a community discussion with Houston Public Works to discuss a resident-driven initiative for Blossom & Westcott to improve pedestrian and resident safety. For this particular project, it started with Council Member Kamin's commitment to first and foremost get something done at the WOW Roundabout, which is a large scale improvement that will include raised sidewalks, overlays, and more. Farther south but in conjunction with this, residents reached out asking for improved safety on Blossom and Westcott. Council Member Kamin worked with Houston Public Works to take a look at this, and last Thursday the Department presented two options that we would be able to move forward with pending consensus from the surrounding neighborhood.
