Community Garden — Come Grow with Us
The community garden program was started to show Houstonians how we can grow nutritious foods and give our neighborhoods a chance to participate in the process. Program consist of volunteers who help with planting, watering, and harvesting the community garden. Harvest is available to you and the community.
Diabetes Awareness and Wellness Network
Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The DAWN Center provides free diabetes self-management education and many other health related services to Houstonians in order to reduce and prevent chronic disease.
food pantry for seniors
Monday, Friday, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (intake applications)
Target Hunger is a supplemental food program for seniors. It facilitates the effective entry, coordination and implementation of Houston’s existing educational, health and social services for underserved communities.

Comcast Lift Zones provide free hotspot internet access to help students get online, participate in distance learning, and do their homework.
Senior Program, BakerRipley
The BakerRipley senior program provides daily meals, entertainment, health education classes, daily aerobics classes, transportation, and field trips for senior citizens in the community. Implements programs to meet the needs of all attending senior citizens by linking them to agencies to provide them with assistance as needed.

WIC provides health care referrals, nutritional education, and nutritious foods to pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, and children under five who have nutrition health-related problems.
