Mayor Turner to Join Important National Discussion. Public Invited to Register for MBK Alliance Online Town Hall
October 26, 2018 -- Mayor Sylvester Turner will join the next My Brother's Keeper (MBK) Alliance Online Town Hall on Monday, October 29 at 1:30 p.m. You can register here to reserve your spot. The mayor will discuss the city’s leadership and reflect on the tremendous progress made by MBK Houston.
MBK Houston is an ambitious undertaking for the city. The program focuses on improving future outcomes for youth and children, which also means a better quality of life for all Houstonians.The Houston Health Department serves as MBK's backbone organization.
Mayor Turner will be joined in the discussion by Mrs. Sybrina Fulton, co-founder of the Trayvon Martin Foundation, and mother of Trayvon Martin. Mrs. Fulton will share her powerful reflections on the docuseries, Rest in Power, which examines Trayvon’s life and legacy. Reporter and ESPN Commentator Michael Smith will moderate this important conversation.
The MBK Alliance Team will also provide an update on upcoming opportunities for MBK Community leaders. The Town Hall will be emceed by MBKA Youth Advisory Council members Malachi Hernandez, of MBK Boston and Senegal Mabry, of MBK New York State.
