2019 Entertainment - Chloe X Halle
At soon-to-be 20 and 18, respectively, Chloe and Halle Bailey are spiritually-grounded in a way that far exceeds their years. The sisters write and produce their own music and when they harmonize, there’s no denying how attuned they are – as individuals, siblings and creative collaborators. That feeling – coupled with a connection to, and kinship with, their peers – is evident on each of the 18 songs featured on The Kids Are Alright (Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia Records).
Along with music, they’re making a name for themselves on primetime. On Wednesday nights, Chloe and Halle transform into the fictional college coeds, Jazz and Sky, on Freeform’s hit comedy, grown’ish. The coming-of-age series premiered at the top of 2018, was immediately renewed for a second season and features a theme song co-written by Chloe x Halle (and produced by Chloe).
With their debut album, The Kids Are Alright, EP Sugar Symphony and mixtape The Two Of Us under their belts, Chloe x Halle are surely on their way, yet they’re just getting started. Not surprisingly, they’re as optimistic about the future as they are about staying true to their ever-evolving fan base. “This album is our journey and we hope to inspire young girls and women to feel empowered and know that they are worthy,” Halle says. It’s a journey that they’re honored to take together. “I really love working with my sister,” Chloe adds. “This album means so much to us and we’re so grateful for every, single blessing that has come our way. We just want to continue to grow and always be better.”
