Incident at 9000 Town Park Drive

June 21, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 9000 Town Park Drive about 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday (June 20).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olivo and Officer M. Khan reported:

The victim was walking through the apartment complex at 9000 Town Park when he
was approached by an unknown black male suspect wearing a red jogging suit with a hood covering his head. For an unknown reason, the suspect shot the victim one time. A witness reported seeing the suspect running west on Town Park and into another apartment complex at 9001 Town Park.

The suspect is described as being 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a stocky build. He had a mustache and beard.
