Open House Media Reception at HPD’s Public Affairs Division

August 20, 2007 - On Thursday (July 19) at 11 a.m. the Houston Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (HCPAAA) and Houston Police Department Public Affairs Division hosted an informal open house reception to meet the division’s new commander, Captain Bruce D. Williams at HPD Headquarters at 1200 Travis in the 21st floor.

The Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association is (HCPAAA) was formed in 1989 and is open to all graduates of the Houston Citizens Police Academy. Their purpose is to bring together the graduates of the Houston Citizens’ Police Academy, to enhance the relations between the community and the police force, and to assist all law enforcement agencies. The HCPAAA shares the values and guiding principles of the Houston Police Department with other citizens and strive to improve the efficiency of law enforcement in the neighborhoods through shared responsibilities and resources.

Members of the alumni provide a valuable service to the Houston Police Department in volunteering their personal time to enhance the overall delivery of police service to the citizens of Houston.
