Traffic Incident at 2500 South Dairy Ashford August 23, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 2500 block of South Dairy Ashford about 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 22). The victim is identified as Rafael Reyes, 70. He was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant L.H. Lefler and Officer T. Nguyen reported: A man driving a white Chevrolet vehicle was traveling north in the 2500 block of South Dairy Ashford in the center lane when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle veered into the left lane, across the median and then struck a white Saturn waiting in the left turn lane south on South Dairy Ashford. The Chevrolet continued forward and struck Mr. Reyes, a pedestrian selling newspapers in the median. At that time, the Chevrolet also struck another vehicle, a tan Toyota sports utility vehicle, waiting in the left turn lane behind the Saturn. None of the drivers was seriously injured.
