Traffic Incident at 11700 East Freeway (I-10) December 23, 2007 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 11700 East Freeway about 4 a.m. today (Dec. 23). The suspect is identified as Cody Cormier (w/m, DOB 8-29-82). The identity of the deceased male victim, 20, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office and notification to family members. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Officer J. Garcia reported: The victim stopped his gold Buick Park Avenue in the far-right shoulder lane of the freeway for an undetermined reason. A 2004 black Honda CRV struck the victim as he exited his vehicle. As the victim came to rest in the far-left (inside) lane, a second vehicle, a blue Dodge Durango struck him. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other serious injuries. The driver of the first vehicle (Honda) smelled of an alcoholic beverage and was taken into custody for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. A mandatory blood sample was taken.
