Update on Incident at 6363 West Airport July 2, 2007 - A suspect has been charged in the fatal shooting of a woman at 6363 West Airport about 12:30 a.m. on December 11, 2006. The suspect, Deadric Leon Garner (b/m, DOB 7-19-84), is in custody and has been in prison on an unrelated weapons charge. Garner is now charged with murder in the 337th State District Court for the killing of Twala Ann Hogan, 39, of 12500 Dunlap #564. Mrs. Hogan suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J.W. Belk, M.W. McStravick, C.W. Howard and Officers T.W. Miller and M.J. Miller reported: Mrs. Hogan, her husband and another male were in the parking lot of the apartment complex at 6363 West Airport when the suspect approached them. The suspect began shooting at them and all three were struck by gunshots. The two males were transported to area hospitals and survived their wounds. The suspect left the location on foot. During the follow-up investigation, officers received information leading them to Garner as the suspect. Witnesses then positively identified him as the shooter. Officers determined Garner was in prison and said he will be brought back to Harris County to face the charge in this case.
