Incident at 4001 Watonga #3710 July 5, 2007 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 4001 Watonga #3710 about 4:42 p.m. on Wednesday (July 4). Arturo Leo Garcia (H/m, DOB: 11-10-86), is charged with manslaughter in the 179th State District Court. The victim, Corey Nevill, 18, of 1742 Wakefield, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. T. Wyers and Officer R. Cervantez reported: Officers responded to a shooting call at the Sierra Ranch Apartments and observed Mr. Nevill dead inside the apartment from a gunshot wound. Witnesses initially stated Garcia entered the apartment and shot Mr. Nevill. Further investigation determined a fight had occurred between Garcia and another resident when Garcia pulled out a pistol.
