Traffic Incident at 2000 Smith and 600 Pierce July 11, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident involving a pedestrian at 2000 Smith and 600 Pierce on Tuesday (July 10) at 3:40 p.m. The victim, Melissa Hurst, 30, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she died from her injuries. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant S. Perez and Officer R. Kessler reported: Ms. Hurst was crossing south across Pierce when a vehicle made a left turn from Smith onto Pierce and struck her.
