Incident at 10555 Spice Lane July 17, 2007 - Charges have been filed against a suspect in the fatal shooting of a juvenile at 10555 Spice Lane on June 12, 2007 about 9:10 p.m. The male victim, 16, sustained a single gunshot wound and was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital where he later died. The suspect, Marquis J. Hughes (b/m, DOB: 10-10-86), is charged with murder in the 179th State District Court. HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J.R. McGalin and Officer D.W. Arnold reported: HPD and HFD responded to a call at the Aspen Ridge Apartment complex and discovered the victim in a common area with a gunshot wound. Hughes was arrested and provided a confession which led to the charges being filed.
