Traffic Incident at 19900 Katy Freeway July 23, 2007 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 19900 Katy Freeway (Interstate 10 West) about 4:45 p.m. on Sunday (July 22). The victim, Sonexai Phimainok, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant S. A. Perez and Officer R. Kessler reported: Mr. Phimainok was changing a flat tire on the rear driver’s side of his compact pickup truck in the inbound safety lanes of the Katy Freeway when he was struck from behind by another compact truck. A possible suspect was followed by witnesses and later detained by Northeast patrol units at 9100 Lockwood. Witnesses reported conflicted accounts of the suspect’s vehicle description.
