Traffic Incident At 9500 East Avenue J July 26, 2007 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident in the 9500 block of East Avenue J about 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday (July 25). The suspect, Arielle Janet Jackson (b/f, DOB: 11/25/88), faces possible charges of failure to stop and render aid. The victim, Roy Lopez, 9, of 9516 East Avenue J, was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant A. Francois and Officers R. Kessler, J. Mushinski, T. Nguyen and J.P. Walsh reported: Witnesses reported seeing a Green Honda traveling westbound on East Avenue J at a high rate of speed, when the driver lost control and drove into a ditch, over a driveway and back onto the roadway. Roy Lopez was sitting on his bicycle on his driveway when he was struck by the vehicle. The driver continued west on East Avenue J and fled the scene. A witness who heard the accident, and observed the Honda leaving the scene, followed the vehicle until it stopped on Avenue K. The witness detained the driver and a passenger until police arrived.
