Traffic Incident at 10500 Gulf Freeway June 17, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 10500 block of the Gulf Freeway (Interstate 45 South) about 1 a.m. today (June 17). The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer J. Lin reported: The victim’s red Toyota stalled in the northbound entrance lane to the Gulf Freeway near Airport Boulevard, and according to witnesses, he exited his vehicle. As the victim stood in a moving lane of traffic, a late model pickup truck traveling on the freeway struck the victim and his vehicle. No charges have been filed at this time against the driver of the pickup and the investigation is continuing.
