Traffic Incident at 5800 East Freeway June 27, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 5800 East Freeway (Interstate 10 East) about 2:55 p.m. today (June 27). The male victim’s identity is being withheld pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant W.R. Cumbess and Officer R. Kessler reported: The male victim attempted to cross the eastbound mainlanes of the East Freeway (I-10 East) when he was struck by a vehicle traveling east on the freeway.
