Incident at 6060 Gulfton #209 May 24, 2007 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 6060 Gulfton #209 about 3 a.m. Wednesday (May 23). David Anthony Lawson (w/m, DOB 9-19-85), is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court. The male victim suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T.R. Hernandez and Officer X. Avila reported: Lawson met the victim at a bar and was offered a ride home. Once inside Lawson’s apartment, Lawson claims the victim tried to rob him at knifepoint. Investigators determined Lawson disarmed and stabbed the victim with the same kitchen knife in the neck, chest and stomach. Lawson attempted to conceal the crime by putting the victim in a wooden box, cleaning up his apartment with bleach, and discarding evidence in the apartment complex dumpster. Lawson then informed some family members what had happened and they called HPD. Lawson was then taken into custody.
