Traffic Incident at North Loop May 28, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 7500 block of the North Loop (610 Loop) at Kirkpatrick about 3:15 a.m. today (May 28). The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant S.R. Sorge and Officers S. Johnson and A. Alaniz reported: A white Crown Victoria was westbound on the North Loop when the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to strike the shoulder guardrail. The vehicle slid in the grass before striking a pole, at a high rate of speed. The victim, who was the front seat passenger, died and the driver was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in serious condition. The Harris County District Attorney’s office vehicular assault team responded to the scene. The investigation is continuing.
