Incident at 2922 Dalton

November 2, 2007 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 2922 Dalton on today (November 2) about 6 a.m.

The victim’s identity is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the torso in an apparent aggravated kidnapping and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants C.E. Elliott, J.C. Padilla and M. Cruz and Officer J.C. Bonaby reported:

The victim walked out the front door of his residence to get into his truck and go to a construction job. As the victim was getting into his truck, four to five Hispanic males approached him. At least two of the suspects were armed with pistols. Two of the suspects began to beat the victim who began to honk his horn to get someone’s attention. The victim’s wife came to the door and one of the suspects pointed a pistol at her and said they were the police and to go inside or she would be shot. The suspects dragged the victim out to the street towards two waiting vehicles, a red Ford Expedition and a dark colored sedan. When the victim reached the edge of the street, shots were fired and the victim fell into the ditch. The suspects fled in the vehicles.
