Traffic Incident at Woodlyn at Denton

November 17, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at Woodlyn at Denton about 9:50 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 16).

The identities of the deceased male, in his 20s, and the other seriously injured female driver, also in her 20s, are pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office and/or notification to the next of kin.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D. Morgan and Officer A Alaniz reported:

A 1998 blue Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight, traveling west on Woodlyn, ran the stop sign at Denton and was struck by a 2000 gray Chevrolet Malibu which was traveling north on Denton. The Oldsmobile then struck a fence and the Chevrolet landed in a ditch on the northwest corner of the intersection.

Both drivers were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where the driver of the Oldsmobile was pronounced dead. The driver of the Chevrolet was treated for serious injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
