Incident at 6849 South Gessner

November 19, 2007 - Houston police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating two suspects believed responsible for an auto theft and child abduction at 6849 South Gessner about 11 a.m. on Sunday (November 18).

The child, 4, and vehicle were found a short time later. The child was unharmed.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.C. Padilla and Officer R. A. Swainson reported:

A motorist, Ronald Ram, 47, parked his 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe, with his four-year old son secured in a child restraining seat in the rear, in a strip center on South Gessner near Bellaire Boulevard. Mr. Ram briefly exited the vehicle and entered a business to drop off a document to employees. A security video camera captured two suspects acting suspicious near the Tahoe. One of the suspects then got into the Tahoe and fled northbound on South Gessner with the boy in the back seat.

An “Amber Alert” was activated on the kidnapped child and a description of the vehicle was released. HPD officers immediately searched the area and, a few hours later, the vehicle and the child were located at an apartment complex in the 9300 block of Town Park.

The suspects, described only as two Hispanic males, remain at large.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
