Incident at 5500 Antoine #217 September 5, 2007 - Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 5500 Antoine #217 about 4:45 a.m. today (September 5). The victim suffered severe burns and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.R. McGalin and Officer D. Arnold reported: The Houston Fire Department responded to the location after receiving a call from residents that apartment 217 was on fire. As firefighters extinguished the fire, the victim’s body was found inside the apartment. Witnesses later reported to police that gunshots were heard coming from the same unit about 1:30 a.m., however the police were not called at that time.
