Incident at 4620 Davenport September 11, 2007 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 4620 Davenport about 10:55 a.m. on June 4. The suspect, Valerie Minyon Mitchell (b/f, DOB: 1-23-68), is charged with capital murder in the 230th State District Court. The victim, Wayne Eugene Coleman, 59, of 4620 Davenport, suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Officers D. R. Shorten and S. Straughter reported: Mr. Coleman was found by his caretaker deceased from apparent multiple stab wounds in his home. The motive appeared to be robbery. Witness statements and evidence from the scene identified Mitchell as the suspect in this crime and she was later arrested.
