Fatal Traffic Accident at 12500 South Freeway

August 4, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 12500 block of the South Freeway (Highway 288) about 9: 30 a.m. Sunday (August 3).

The two victims, a male driver and his female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Calley and Officer B. Banks reported:

The male driver of a white Chevrolet Impala was traveling southbound on the South Freeway when he crossed over the median into the northbound mainlanes. The Impala struck a blue Buick LeSabre, driven by the male victim and occupied by his female passenger, then struck a gray GMC Yukon, also traveling northbound on the freeway. The driver of the Impala was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with unknown injuries and the driver of the Yukon was treated and released at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
