Fatality Hit-And-Run Accident at Fannin And Mcgowen August 22, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident at the intersection of Fannin and McGowen about 3 a.m. today. The male victim, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Morgan and Officer J. Garcia reported: Witnesses observed the victim attempt to cross the street at McGowen and Fannin when a black Dodge Charger, traveling south on Fannin at a high rate of speed struck him. The driver of the Charger continued south on Fannin and onto Highway 59, fleeing the scene. Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the HPD Hit-and-Run Unit at 713-247-4065.
