Pedestrian Sitting in Lane Of Traffic Killed at 600 South Dairy Ashford

February 4, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian traffic accident at 600 South Dairy Ashford about 8:45 p.m. on Saturday (February 2).

The victim, an unknown male, was pronounced dead on the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant L.H. Lefler and Officer A. Rodriguez reported:

The victim was sitting in a southbound lane of 600 South Dairy Ashford when a vehicle struck him. The driver of the vehicle, Huong Nguyen, 32, expressed that due to the darkness, she did not see the victim sitting in the street until it was too late. Ms. Nguyen showed no sign of impairment and was released at the scene with no charges. It is unknown why the victim was sitting in the road.

No other vehicles were involved in this incident. The investigation is continuing.
