Update on Fatal Shooting at 4855 West Fuqua

February 13, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 4855 West Fuqua about 11:10 p. m. on Thursday (February 7).

The suspect, Jonathan Ray Iles (b/m, DOB: 2-4-82), is charged with capital murder in the 232nd State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Larry W. Miller Jr., 34, of 4014 Elm Street, Grove City, Ohio. Mr. Miller suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers D. Vasquez and T. A. Andrade reported:

Miller and a friend went to the Peninsula Park Apartments to conduct a drug transaction with Iles and a second unknown male. At some point during the transaction, Iles produced a handgun and shot Miller twice.

Further investigation identified Iles as the shooter in this case and on Friday (February 8), Iles was arrested at his residence without incident.
