Fatal Traffic Accident at 11600 West Bellfort February 21, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 11600 block of West Bellfort about 7:15 a.m. today (February 21). The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant G.T. Hall and Officer R. Saenz reported: A blue Toyota Corolla was westbound on West Bellfort at a high rate of speed when the vehicle left the roadway, skidded backwards and struck a tree. The passenger died at the scene while the driver was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with unknown injuries. Investigators discovered unexplained damage to the vehicle and witnesses did not see any contact prior to the accident.
