Update on Fatal Shooting at 15800 Hiram Clarke February 21, 2008 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a male at 15800 Hiram Clarke Road about 6:45 p. m. on Saturday (February 9). The suspect, Xavier Powell (b/m, DOB: 9-21-90), faces a possible murder charge that will be issued out of the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s office. The victim, Justin Demon Turner, 17, of 15802 Ironside Creek, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Semmelrock and Officer J. E. Rodriguez reported: An unknown number of suspects in a white Ford Crown Victoria followed a vehicle, in which Mr. Turner was a passenger, traveling on Hiram Clarke. When the vehicle slowed to turn onto Ridgecroft Road, Powell shot at the vehicle. Further investigation and witness statements identified Powell as the shooter in this case and on Wednesday (Feb. 20), he was arrested and is in custody at the Fort Bend County Jail. |
