Since 1984, the Houston Police Department has used the month of March to highlight crime prevention, dedicating resources and personnel to inform and educate the public on crime prevention tips. Originally created out of a growing concern over crime, the department partnered with citizens, communities, and area businesses to address their crime concerns.

Merging the traditional with the new, this year’s March on Crime program will introduce the department’s new Keep Houston Safe campaign to citizens throughout our city. Keep Houston Safe is a public safety campaign involving a collaborative partnership between citizens, businesses, and the Houston Police Department. The main focus of the campaign is crime prevention and the implementation of proactive enforcement efforts and measures aimed at the reduction of criminal activity.
