Victim Identified in Fatal Shooting at 8701 Gustine Lane

July 11, 2008 - Houston police have learned the identity of a man fatally shot at 8701 Gustine Lane about 8:15 p.m. on Monday (July 7).

The victim, Brandon Mims, 22, of Humble, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Cegielski and Officers B. Nabors and C. Sturdivant reported:

Mr. Mims exited his vehicle, was approached by three unknown suspects and then shot multiple times as he (Mims) attempted to run away. After the shooting, the suspects fled on foot through the apartment complex.

Investigators do not believe robbery was a motive in this incident.

The suspects are described only as three black males.
