Shooting at 11000 Cullen Boulevard

July 28, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man and wounding of a toddler in the 11000 block of Cullen Boulevard about 2:45 p.m. last Saturday (July 26).

The adult victim, Lorell Hughes Linton, 22, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. The three-year old toddler suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was also transported to Memorial Herman Hospital in critical condition. His identity is being withheld at this time.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer B. Nabors reported:

Patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 11000 block of Cullen Boulevard and found Linton had been shot. Further investigation determined the infant had been transported to the hospital from Houston Fire Department Station #55 had also been shot.

Information was developed that a possible suspect vehicle (a green Chrysler Sebring) was seen leaving the scene. The vehicle was later found abandoned in a field behind a park near the scene.

There is no known motive or suspect(s) at this time.
