Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at 7700 Corporate Drive

July 31, 2008 - Houston police have arrested and charged a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man at 7700 Corporate Drive at about 9:40 p.m. on Saturday (July 26).

The suspect, Richard Romero (H/m, DOB: 11/7/88), is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Arnol Obdulio-Funez, 24, of Houston, who suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.

Homicide Division Sergeant R.J. Blain and Investigator E. H. Schmidt reported:

Mr. Funez was involved in a disturbance with Romero in the parking lot of the apartment complex when Romero shot Mr. Funez.

A follow up investigation identified Richard Romero as the suspect in this case. He was arrested on Tuesday (July 29) without incident.
