Man Shot by Burglar at 6114 Great Oaks

June 16, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of an elderly man at 6114 Great Oaks about 3 p.m. last Thursday (June 12).

The victim, Floyd Nauls Sr., 74, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he remains in the intensive care unit following surgery.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R.D. Chandler and Officer L.K. Lovelace reported:

Mr. Nauls returned to his home and walked inside as it was being burglarized by one or more males. He apparently surprised the suspects and was subsequently shot by one of them. Nauls managed to call 911. The unidentified burglars fled the scene.

At this time, there are no known witnesses or suspects in the shooting.
