Child Drowning Investigation at 2801 Rolido Drive

June 23, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the drowning of a child at 2801 Rolido Drive about 8 p.m. on Sunday (June 22).

The three-year old toddler was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest where he was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld at this time.

HPD Homicide Sgt. R. D. Chandler and Senior Police Officer L. K. Lovelace reported:

While visiting friends at an apartment complex at 2801 Rolido, the toddler was taken to a swimming pool in the complex by his family members. The child was swimming in the pool with a flotation device when, at some point, he fell out of the flotation device and went under water. When the family realized the child was missing, they immediately searched the area and located the toddler at the bottom of the pool.

The investigation is continuing.
