Suspects Arrested in Death of Man at 4601 Yellowstone

June 25, 2008 - Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested for the death of a man at 4601 Yellowstone #36 about 3 a.m. on Monday (June 23).

The two suspects, Laquinta Doniell Joseph (b/f, DOB: 12/4/78) and Lakeshia Lavine (b/f, DOB: 7/18/81) are charged with murder in the 208th State District Court. They are accused in the killing of Kendrick Wayne York, 30, of Houston, who died from asphyxia due to compressions of the neck.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Anthony and Senior Police Officer R. Chappell reported:

Mr. York was involved in an altercation with Joseph and Lavine at the Capital Inn Motel at 4601 Yellowstone. York died during the altercation.

Joseph and Lavine provided statements to investigators regarding their involvement in this crime. Those statements were consistent with evidence and with other witness accounts.
