Update on Aggravated Assault at 5227 Calhoun

March 04, 2008 - Houston police have learned a female assaulted at 5227 Calhoun about 5:15 p.m. on Sunday (March 2) has died from her injuries.

The victim, Melissa Latrice Spriggs, 27, of 4601 Boicewood, suffered severe head trauma and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. She was pronounced dead about 5 a.m. today (March 4).

Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine Ms. Spriggs’ cause of death.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Dillingham and E. Lorenzana reported:

Ms. Spriggs suffered a severe head injury during a physical altercation between two groups of people following a minor traffic accident at MacGregor Park. It is unknown at this time what caused her injury.

An individual, Moses Christopher Lamb Jr. (b/m, DOB: 11-11-71), was arrested at the scene and charged with being a felon in possession of a weapon and deadly conduct in the 337th State District Court after he discharged a weapon at the scene.
