Fatal Shooting at 5800 South Gessner

May 15, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5800 South Gessner about 4:10 a.m. today (May 15).

The victim, 24, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B.E. Roberts and Officer R.A. Moreno reported:

The victim was walking to his vehicle and was confronted by the suspect, near the rear of the vehicle. The two spoke before the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male with a light complexion. He was armed with a semi-automatic pistol.
