Shooting of a Peace Officer at 7500 Lyons

May 21, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of an off-duty Harris County Precinct 4 Deputy Constable in the 7500 block of Lyons about 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday (May 20).

Deputy Constable P. Marquez suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital where he is expected to recover from his injury.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. W. McStravick and Senior Police Officer B. D. Evans reported:

Deputy Marquez was off-duty in the 7500 block of Lyons when a male suspect produced a pistol and shot the deputy as he was walking away from the suspect.

The suspect, described only as a black male, was seen in a gray 2006 or 2007 Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows and in the company of two other black males. A late 1990s two-door pearl colored Cadillac with a Landau top, occupied by two black females in their late 20s or early 30s, may possibly be associated with the suspect’s vehicle.
