Investigation into Male’s Death at 8300 Mykawa Road

November 4, 2008 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man at the Stringfellow Southeast Police Station jail at 8300 Mykawa Road about 5:30 a.m. on Monday (Nov. 3).

The male is identified as Jeremy R. Parsons, 20, of Pasadena.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants T. Huynh and J.C. Padilla reported:

A jail employee at the Southeast Station’s jail was waking up all prisoners for breakfast when he found Mr. Parsons deceased in his cell. He was lying in bed and covered by a blanket. There were no signs of trauma or foul play.

An initial investigation revealed Parsons might have overdosed on drugs. The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an autopsy to determine his cause of death.

As is customary in such in-custody deaths, the incident is being investigated by the HPD Homicide and Internal Affairs Divisions.
