Fatal Traffic Accident at 3800 Southwest Freeway November 25, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 3800 block of the Southwest Freeway (State Highway 59 South) about 8 p.m. on Monday (Nov. 24). The male victim, identified as Bobby Kay, was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. R. Sorge and Officer F. Bashir reported: The driver of a brown Chevrolet Impala was travelling westbound in the 3800 block of the Southwest Freeway. As the driver changed lanes, the Impala sideswiped a Nissan Titan, occupied by Mr. Kay (the driver) and his female passenger. The Nissan swerved left and drove up on the cement divider, struck a metal post then flipped over and pinned Mr. Kay under the truck. The female passenger was pulled from the truck before it burst into flames. The investigation is continuing. VHS/JC
