Fatal Shooting at 6371 Windswept

October 6, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and wounding of a juvenile female at 6371 Windswept about 5:40 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 3).

The victim, Alejandro Garcia, 20, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. The female, 14, also suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in stable condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. M. Bush and Officer C. D. Sturdivant reported:

Mr. Garcia and the female victim were walking on the sidewalk in the 6300 block of Windswept when two suspects in a small, dark-colored, four-door vehicle with tinted windows stopped in the street next to them. The male passenger leaned out of the window, shouted at the victims, then shot at them.

The shooter is described only as a Hispanic male in his late teens, heavy set and with short black hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and dark pants.
