Traffic Accident at 4900 State Highway 288

October 9, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a traffic accident that left a man critically injured in the 4900 block of State Highway 288 North about 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 8).

The victim, Bou Boen, 24, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Morgan and Officer A. Alaniz reported:

Mr. Boen was operating a blue Yamaha motorcycle, northbound in the 4900 block of Highway 288, at a high rate of speed when he lost control and veered from the highway onto the left shoulder. The motorcycle then struck a wooden Texas Department of Transportation sign and traveled several feet before coming to a stop.

No other vehicles were involved in this accident and the investigation is continuing.
