Suspect Arrested, Charged in Death of Woman at 3603 Maury

October 28, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a woman found at 3603 Maury about 10:15 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 23).

The suspect, Jose Martin Rocha (H/m, DOB: 1/13/87), is charged with capital murder in the 183rd State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Fannie Mae Fisher, 85, of Houston, who suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J. Wyers and M. Dillingham and Officers R. Martinez, J.T. Barringer and D. Gunter reported:

Patrol officers were dispatched to a home invasion call at 3603 Maury and found the victim in her bed with head injuries and a cord around her neck. The bedroom had been ransacked.

Further investigation identified Jose Martin Rocha as the suspect in this case. He was arrested on Saturday (Oct. 25) at 5300 Collingsworth without incident.
