Suspects Arrested in Capital Murder at 6203 Airline

September 02, 2008 - Three suspects have been arrested and charged in the death of a man found at 6203 Airline Drive about 9:10 a.m. on August 6.

The suspects, all juveniles, will be referred to the Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on charges of capital murder. They are accused in the killing of Ricardo Martinez, 39, who suffered blunt trauma to his head and died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Officers H.A. Chavez, L. Benavidez and C. Sturdivant reported:

Mr. Martinez was headed to work and was waiting for the bus in the 6200 block of Airline when two juvenile male suspects approached him. The suspects struck Martinez on his head and body with a metal object, knocking him to the ground, before stealing his wallet and a necklace. The suspects then fled in their vehicle, which was driven by the third suspect, a female.

A follow up investigation led homicide investigators to identify and arrest the suspects in this case.
