Fatal Shooting at 5800 Elysian

September 10, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the 5800 block of Elysian about 12:50 a.m. today (September 10).

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. J. LeBlanc and Senior Police Officer B. D. Evans reported:

The victim and a group of males were out celebrating one of their cousin’s birthday at Club Gator at 5800 Elysian. As the males were gathered outside next to one of the males’ car, several shots were fired from somewhere behind the group towards them. The males then ran for cover from the gunfire and the victim was struck once.

The suspect is described only as a black male, 25 to 28 years of age, and wearing a white tank top and blue jean shorts.
