Update on Investigation into Male's Death at 1600 Ruth

April 28, 2009 - Houston police have learned the identity of a man found dead in the 1600 block of Ruth about 3 a.m. Thursday (Apr. 23). 

The victim, Howard Joseph Cox, 46, suffered a stab wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer A.D. Brown and Officer D. K. Gunter reported: 

Patrol officers responded to a person down call at the intersection of Ruth and Jackson and found the victim lying in the street next to the curb, deceased. 

There is no known motive, witnesses or suspects at this time.
